Age(ish): Erm, still in my 30s, just!
Job role: Salon owner, senior stylist
Tell us a little about your career so far:
I studied full-time to be a hairdresser in Hertfordshire, where I grew up, and started out as a Saturday girl in a very busy town centre salon, where I really learnt the trade.
Since then, I have worked in a handful of independent salons, with the focus on friendly customer service and providing clients with their perfect style.
We moved to Yorkshire in 2005 and I was soon managing a busy salon, while entering competitions such as Wella’s TrendVision.
In 2014 I took the next step and opened Grace Hair & Beauty. I’m loving being able to put my experience and knowledge into the new salon, and pushing the brand forward. I’m so proud of the salon and the team, and love being able to share my passion with the team and our clients!
What I love about working for Grace Hair & Beauty:
Being the boss! Ha ha! I do love observing the team at work and seeing how they approach different styles and client requests. It’s great to share ideas. I love the building too, the atmosphere in there is lovely, it’s an awesome space to work in.
Give us a quick hair or beauty tip:
Eat well and drink plenty of water. Might not sound like a hair-related tip, but it promotes healthy hair growth! By the way, there’s free mineral water (or tea and coffee) for you in the salon!!
Favourite song ever:
Tricky one! We play lots of different styles in the salon. Relaxing music is good, chill-out tunes… then again my favourite band is probably The Killers, so let’s go for ‘Mr Brightside’.
